President
As President of Rivertown
Media & Communications, Terry Rilett has over 20 years of experience in
the design and advertising industry. Terry studied at Central Michigan
University before beginning her media career. After working for several
local agencies including Steven's Advertising and Visions Marketing, she
decided to venture out on her own and, in 1997, founded Rivertown Media
& Communications. What began as a one-room, home-based business has
since grown to a downtown office housing several employees and
interns. Terry was born and raised in the small town of Cass City,
Michigan before moving to Grandville with her husband and two daughters in 1985.
Now happily leading the "empty nest" lifestyle, she lives in Wyoming with her husband Rick
and
their two cats.
Karen Hoekstra /
Graphic Designer
Karen is a graphic designer at
Rivertown Media. She joined the company in May, 2000 after working for
such companies as WXMI Fox-17 and the Grand Rapids Symphony. Karen
studied Visual Communications at Kendall College of Art & Design in
Grand Rapids, but attributes a lot of her creative talent to genetics (Karen is the oldest of Terry's
two daughters). Raised in Grandville, Karen
now lives in northeast Grand Rapids with her husband, Brian. Karen enjoys
spending her time traveling, going to concerts, and teaching percussion for the
Grandville High School Marching Band.
Carleen Crawford

Public Relations
Carleen Crawford was added
to the Rivertown Media team to provide our clients with strategic public
relations and communications services. She has spent more than 20 years
in P.R. and corporate communications in positions in broadcast media,
healthcare, and higher education. Carleen earned her B.A. in
Communication Arts and Sciences and her Master's in Organizational
Communications from Western Michigan University. Currently, Carleen is
Chair of the Marketing Committee for the Grand Rapids City and Public
Schools community initiative Expanded Learning Opportunities/The LOOP,
Chair of the Chamber Athena Awards Publicity Committee, and serves on
the Marketing Committee of the West Michigan Chapter of March of Dimes.
